Job summary

The Shores, a UMC senior living community in Ocean City, NJ, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to perform day-to-day repairs across the campus. You will handle building systems, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks while responding quickly to resident and staff service requests.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, completing work orders, tracking supplies, and identifying safety concerns to keep the community safe and secure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day repairs across the community: building systems, minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Respond quickly to resident and staff service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment and mechanical systems running reliably.
• Complete work orders and inspection records in the maintenance tracking system.
• Track maintenance supplies and help coordinate ordering and storage.
• Spot and flag safety issues to help keep the community clean and secure.
