Job summary

Calvary Street Management is seeking a driven Maintenance Technician for an Assisted Living community located in Washington, DC. The role involves maintaining energy management, preventive maintenance, quality standards and operating objectives to maximize property value.

Responsibilities include supervising vendors, maintaining schedules, and managing building systems (HVAC, lighting, security, life safety) while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; plus technical or trade school certification highly preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Minimum of 2 years' Maintenance engineering experience with knowledge of commercial, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• General maintenance skills in carpentry, painting, locksmithing, etc.
• Proven knowledge of technical terms used in HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical.
• Strong knowledge of building trade tools and equipment.
• Good verbal communication skills and written communication skills in English and customer service skills.
• Must be a good team player with multi-tasking skills; interpersonal skills required.
• Working knowledge of maintenance service ticketing system required. Experience working with TELs is a plus.
• Excellent attendance record and willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include after hours and/or on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervise vendors and subcontractors as needed.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and overall schedules for all.
• Responsible for instituting and managing maintenance and operational best practices for all buildings, grounds and operating systems.
• Understand OSHA, other regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices to insure compliance with work and testing being performed by maintenance personnel, vendors and subcontractors.
• Operate and manage all aspects of the Building Management Systems (HVAC, lighting control, security and life safety).
• Manage usage and procurement to insure utility optimization.
• Additional facility maintenance duties as assigned.
• Team member must operate, test, maintain and restore to working order any component of the systems used within the property, including but not limited to: Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC); Plumbing; Electrical and Lighting Systems; Structural; Life Safety Systems.
