Job summary

Baxter in Hayward, CA is seeking a Supervisor II, Facilities & Maintenance to sustain safe, efficient plant operations and manage preventative maintenance systems. You will lead two shifts, develop PM/PdM programs, and drive CAPA/NCR actions to improve reliability while controlling budgets and contractor activities.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have experience leading a team.
• Be familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
• Understand design, installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and OSHA, EPA, and FDA requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; documentation practices (cGDPs).
• Able to update procedures and modify processes to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and facilities activities supporting a two-shift manufacturing operation.
• Plan, prioritize, and schedule corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance using the CMMS.
• Develop and maintain PM/PdM programs in compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820, GMPs, and site quality.
• Monitor equipment performance, downtime, and reliability data; perform root cause analysis.
• Support CAPA and NCR investigations using structured root cause analysis tools.
• Oversee maintenance of equipment to ensure validated/qualified state and timely return to service.
• Manage maintenance budgets, POs, and expense forecasting.
• Lead maintenance staffing, scheduling, training, performance, and hiring decisions.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering for smooth project transitions.
• Promote safe, compliant, and ethical work environment per safety policies and regulatory requirements.
