Job summary

Dakota County’s Facilities Management department is seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor to oversee care, operation and maintenance of county facilities. The role includes supervising staff and managing outside contractors in a designated region, ensuring safe and efficient building operations.

The supervisor coordinates maintenance across building systems, oversees energy management initiatives, and maintains detailed PM records.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical certificate/degree in HVAC Systems, Building Maintenance, Building Services, Housekeeping Management, or closely related field.
• AND Two years' experience in building services related areas with supervision.
• An equivalent combination of education and direct work experience to total four years in building services related areas.
• Experience supervising staff or directing work is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day activities through scheduling and coordination of staff to meet department and county goals.
• Provide direct supervision of staff including hiring, training, performance reviews and evaluations.
• Coordinate electrical systems maintenance with electricians and other service contractors.
• Coordinate facility systems maintenance and repairs (heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, fire suppression, doors, painting).
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance records for all mechanical equipment.
