Job summary

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance/Facilities Supervisor to oversee the general operating maintenance and repair of the community buildings and grounds in compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and Brookdale policies. The role includes supervising maintenance, housekeeping, and possibly laundry staff, coordinating repairs, and ensuring safety and code adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages associates responsible for general operating maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds according to standards and policies.
• Supervises community maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry staff; handles hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Directs maintenance workers for interior and exterior upkeep; inspects completed work for standards compliance.
• Oversees scheduled maintenance on HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, and kitchen equipment.
• Coordinates resident maintenance requests for repairs in rooms; handles plumbing, electrical, heating, and bulb replacements.
• Oversees repairs of vacated rooms; includes painting and carpet cleaning.
• Maintains common areas; liaises with fire marshal, inspectors; ensures adherence to codes.
• Assesses plumbing and electrical problems; determines corrective action within legal codes.
