Job summary

The University of South Alabama’s Maintenance Department is seeking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor to manage trades personnel, schedule work, and ensure building maintenance and safety standards on the Main Campus in Mobile. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, four years of building maintenance experience with two years in a supervisory role, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent or higher; four years of general building maintenance and repair work experience.
Two years in a supervisory capacity within maintenance or related field.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable for university insurance.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Assigns, supervises, and inspects work of electricians, painters, plumbers, maintenance mechanics, roofers and other trades personnel and contractors.
Makes requisitions and purchases of tools, equipment, and materials.
Keeps records and manages employees’ time, safety training, and reports.
Assists with hiring, disciplining, and evaluating personnel.
