Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Production Supervisor for a contract to hire role based in Fresno, CA. You will lead an in-house production team and coordinate with external vendors to ensure timely completion of units while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years of supervision in manufacturing, hands-on experience with SAP and MS Office, and a proven ability to drive efficiency in a fast-paced, construction-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in production supervision within a construction-oriented or manufacturing setting.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using SAP invoicing platform and related production or operations modules.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and other core applications.

Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Description

The Production Supervisor leads and coaches an in-house team and coordinates with external vendors to ensure units are completed on time and to a high quality standard in a fast-paced, construction-oriented environment. This role focuses on maintaining a strong safety culture, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring the operation remains responsive and agile so that every team member goes home safely at the end of the day.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach an in-house production team while coordinating work with external vendors to achieve on-time, quality readiness of units.
  • Conduct all business in full compliance with company safety, transportation, and environmental policies.
  • Manage employee and vendor health and safety by creating a safer workplace, conducting daily safety meetings, and using programs such as DuPont STOP™ for training, observations, and safety reinforcement.
  • Perform regularly scheduled safety and environmental assessments of the branch to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure operating standards are consistently followed and supported through robust training, communication, and ongoing reinforcement.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed accurately and efficiently, and perform weekly reviews and reporting on performance to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Assess labor efficiency and perform capacity planning activities to align resources with workload and production targets.
  • Ensure off-rent inspections are completed in a timely and accurate manner, draft detailed work orders, and issue damage billing when appropriate.
  • Relocate idle fleet as required, conduct work order assessments, and perform physical inventory counts on fleet units.
  • Manage the Work Order system, monitor drivers of inaccuracies such as condition coding, and develop strategies to maintain work order variances below 10%.
  • Ensure work orders for idle fleet are accurate and that idle fleet work orders are less than nine months old.
  • Issue and track vendor purchase orders to support production requirements and maintain accurate records of external services.
  • Order, receive, and distribute materials and value-added products (VAPS) to internal work teams and external vendors to support unit completion.
  • Conduct monthly inventory counts for major parts, VAPS, and minor parts to maintain accurate stock levels and support continuous operations.
  • Drive first-time quality by working with the team to analyze root causes of defects and implement corrective actions to reduce service calls within 60 days of delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in production supervision within a construction-oriented or manufacturing setting.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using SAP invoicing platform and related production or operations modules.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to creating the safest and most cost-effective work environment while exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Background in supervisor or management roles, ideally within manufacturing or construction.
  • Practical understanding of construction-related tasks such as framing and electrical work sufficient to supervise and coordinate activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • College degree preferred; relevant industry experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Experience with Lean fundamentals in the manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with production supervision in construction or yard-based operations.
  • Knowledge of SAP beyond invoicing, including basic navigation and data entry for operational processes.
  • Comfort using Microsoft applications to track performance, prepare reports, and communicate with internal teams and vendors.
  • A strong desire to continuously improve processes, safety practices, and quality outcomes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in environments that require framing, electrical, or other construction-related skills is an asset.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fresno, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
