Job summary

Goodwill is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee buildings, grounds and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional workspace. The role includes managing custodial services, inspections, budgeting, and vendor negotiations to support daily operations and retail locations.

The ideal candidate demonstrates OSHA knowledge, holds Boom lift and forklift certifications, and can work a flexible schedule while maintaining strong communication with supervisors and teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building and grounds to ensure a safe, functional workspace.

• Conduct regular inspections and manage a maintenance budget; negotiate with outside vendors.
• Schedule and supervise cleaning, groundskeeping for retail stores, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate and communicate with supervisors and team; be willing to work after hours or weekends as needed.

Job description

Essential Functions:

The Facilities Manager maintainsthe buildings and grounds of Goodwill, and oversees the company’s grounds, buildings,and equipment to ensure that the workspace is safe and functional. To ensuredaily custodial services to keep the building’s interior attractive and hygienic. The Facilities Manager conducts regular inspections of allfacilities for Goodwill, to determine areas that need attentionand then perform the tasks and oversee a budget and must negotiate with outside vendorsfor supplies, repairs, and other measures. Maintain and schedule the overallcleanliness and grounds of applicable retail stores within the company. Performall Facility Maintenance issues.

Responsibilities:

1. Tomaintain building’s functional operations in accordance with companysafety standards.
2. To perform a variety of minor plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
3. To setup and break down function rooms as required by meeting/event planner.
4. To maintain all tools and equipment in a clean, safe condition, includingproper safeguards.
5. To safeguard all tools and materials against theft.
6. To follow all safety policies and procedures.
7. To utilize the maintenance work order system.
8. To keep work area in a clean, organized, safe condition
9. To ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and assist with energymanagement.
10. To maintain ongoing communication with supervisors and team.
11. Must be willing to work after hours and weekends when necessary.
12. To change HVAC filters.
13. Change light bulbs.
14. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Must have knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
2. Will be trained and certified on Boom lifts
3. Must have knowledge of general maintenance methods, operatingrequirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
4. Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal andexternal) oriented self-starter Strong procurement and negotiation skills.
5. Must have the ability to tolerate frequent periods of high stress, heavy workload, and multiple priorities.
6. Will be trained and certified on forklift operation.

• Must have carpentry skills including the ability to paint, patch and float sheetrock.
• 7. Must have minor electrical skills including bulb and ballast knowledge.
• 8. Must have minor plumbing skills.
• 9. Must be able to problem solve and make decisions as it relates to the building.
• 10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including days, nights, and weekends.

• 12. Must be able to engage in prolonged standing, walking and in frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
• 13. Must be able to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.

Education:

GED, HS Diploma or TradeSchool Certificate Required. 3-5 YearsGeneral Maintenance, Building/Facility Management experience may substitute foreducation.
