Job summary

Goodwill Industries of North Florida is seeking a Facilities Manager to support the Director of Facilities in coordinating repairs and maintenance across Goodwill facilities. This role ensures safe, secure environments, oversees janitorial and maintenance teams, and coordinates with outside vendors for contracted work.

The position requires 3–5 years in maintenance or facility management, a valid Florida driver’s license, and Basic HVAC/electrical/plumbing skills.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required.
  • Three to five years of prior maintenance/construction industry or facility management experience.
  • Florida driver’s license required with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems maintenance.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations preferred.
  • Facilities maintenance certification in relevant fields preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, communicate with co‑workers and the public.
  • Basic understanding/skill in operation of hand tools and equipment common to building trades and HVAC filtration.
  • Adherence to safety standards and ability to adjust to changing job requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Janitorial Supervisor and Facilities Maintenance Technicians.
  • Manages the timely completion of work order tickets and tracks trends for planning and efficiency.
  • Ensures outside services are properly completed per contracts and work orders.
  • Maintains accurate equipment and supplies inventory for maintenance and janitorial work.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment across all facilities and recommends future projects or enhancements.
  • Provides hands‑on training experience for the facilities team and fosters a learning and skill development environment.
  • Develops and maintains rapport with inter‑department personnel to schedule maintenance.
  • Monitors outside vendors to ensure compliance with established safety procedures.
  • Hires and trains staff as needed for regular, preventive, and troubleshooting maintenance.
  • Performs administrative requirements such as completing forms, reports, and submitting to proper personnel.
  • Is available for weekend and holiday calls and may work outside normal hours on an on‑call basis.

Job description

Job Summary: The Facilities Manager assists the Director of Facilities with the coordination and scheduling of work/repairs on and within Goodwill facilities, including janitorial services, basic and preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, and contracted maintenance completed by outside vendors. The Manager provides oversight over the effective and efficient completion of maintenance requests, ensuring a safe, secure, and orderly environment, supports training and development for Facilities and Janitorial employees, and oversees staffing for shifts and contracted clients as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
