Job summary

San Juan Care Center is seeking a friendly, long-term Maintenance Assistant to oversee facility upkeep, ensuring sanitary, attractive, and safe conditions. The role reports to the Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager and emphasizes compliance with state, federal, and corporate standards.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, maintenance scheduling, and documentation of parts and repairs, with daily rounds and prioritization of work orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Knowledge of laundry/housekeeping/maintenance procedures.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular, scheduled safety inspections.
• Follows prescribed Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks in TELS and documents as required.
• Prepares a monthly maintenance schedule based on calendar days.
• Maintains center profile and records of all maintenance activities and parts used.
• Maintains logs in accordance with Life Safety Manual and OSHA.
• Picks up work order requests daily and prioritizes work through the TELS system.
• Maintains electrical and mechanical equipment in good working order and performs repairs.
