Job summary

San Juan Care Center in Farmington, NM is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to manage the maintenance department activities and ensure environmental compliance across federal, state, and local regulations. The role includes keeping the center sanitary, attractive, and safe, and providing quality laundry services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a commercial setting with laundry/housekeeping/maintenance knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred.
• HVAC experience required or preferred.
• Healthcare experience is preferred but training is possible.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas, controls expenses, staffing, and interdepartmental issues; maintains accounts payable, supplies, equipment, and department records.
• Executes preventive maintenance program and records to keep the center at high physical function.
• Develops center profile and plant history with complete maintenance documentation and fuel records.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs per regulations and building codes.
• Collaborates with residents, nurses, physicians, and staff on service requests, infection prevention, and resolutions; follows up and communicates best practices.
• Other duties and duties may change or be assigned at any time.
