Job summary

Plainfield Health Care Center is seeking a friendly Maintenance Assistant to oversee the facility's maintenance, ensuring sanitary, attractive, and orderly conditions. You will report to the Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager and help keep systems in good repair, free from hazards.

This long-term role requires a high school diploma and knowledge of maintenance procedures, with preference for 2 years in long-term care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures.
• 2 years' long-term care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular safety inspections and weekly walk-throughs of high-risk areas.
• Follow Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks and document as required.
• Prepare a monthly preventive maintenance schedule.
• Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities and parts used.
• Maintain logs on Life Safety and OSHA compliance.
• Conduct daily rounds and set work priorities; manage work orders via TELS.
• Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment; lubricate and clean parts.
• Report serious failures to Administrator.
• Prepare resident rooms for new or discharged residents.
