Job summary

Appalachian Agency For Senior Citizens, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance role to uphold the safety, cleanliness and operation of its Central Office, nutrition sites, adult daycare sites and senior living community.

The position coordinates with supervision to manage maintenance contracts and perform repairs in compliance with relevant codes. Responsibilities include coordinating housekeeping, managing supplies, and ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials while supporting

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Contractor’s license for residential building or home renovation preferred.
• 1–3 years of maintenance in health care, hospital, or senior living environment desired.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems recommended.
• OSHA 30 and first aid certification a plus.
• Strong computer, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, hygienic and safe environment across all AASC sites.
• Coordinates with supervisor to execute facilities construction and maintenance contracts.
• Performs general repairs and upkeep in accordance with codes and regulations.
• Monitors inventory, restocks supplies, and coordinates purchases within scope.
• Ensures classroom setup is ready per facilitator’s requirements.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance including electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Oversees yard and grounds maintenance for Central office and senior living community.
• Attends safety and maintenance meetings; reports findings to supervisor or Executive Director.
• Conducts safety inspections and daily walk-throughs at Central Office.
• Maintains facility key control inventory and coordinates deliveries.
• Performs other agency-related duties as warranted and attends required trainings.
