Job summary

Prince William County Government’s Department of Facilities and Fleet Management seeks a Maintenance and Operations Specialist to plan, coordinate, and oversee maintenance and small renovation projects in County leased facilities. You will be the on-site presence ensuring work progresses from request to closeout while upholding County standards.

You will collaborate with landlords and building owners, verify costs, and maintain thorough records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of hands-on experience in commercial building maintenance or related field.
• Experience coordinating or overseeing maintenance and repair work performed by others.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass DMV check; pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Define scopes of work for maintenance and small renovation requests and build schedules for work in occupied buildings.
• Oversee contractors and trades staff on site and verify work against standards and contract requirements.
• Evaluate conditions using HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and life-safety systems and recommend repairs.
• Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and building owners to resolve maintenance responsibilities under lease terms.
• Maintain project records, estimates, inspection documentation, photos, and warranties in the Division system.
