A Day in the Life

As a Facilities Maintenance Planner at our Toledo Campus in Irvine, CA, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant building operations. You’ll be part of a team that values inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement.

As a Facilities Maintenance Planner, you will:

  1. Develop, schedule, and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance work plans for building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, clean utilities, and critical infrastructure.
  2. Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and vendors to ensure work is planned and executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Medtronic procedures and regulatory standards.
  3. Maintain and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate asset data, task lists, job plans, and work order tracking.
  4. Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance, PM completion, downtime trends).
  5. Order parts, manage inventory levels, and coordinate vendor service work as needed.
  6. Drive standard work practices and continuous improvement within the facilities planning process.
  7. Support cross-functional coordination with manufacturing, quality, and EHS teams.
  8. Uphold a positive and inclusive culture, promoting teamwork, communication, and respect.
Must Have – Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience in facilities services operations or equivalent experience OR
  • Associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year(s) of experience
Nice to Have - Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using a CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Blue Mountain RAM, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, SOPs, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, aerospace, etc.).
  • Background in GMP, ISO, FDA, or EHS-regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, cleanrooms, building automation systems, or utility systems.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose improvements.
  • CMMS configuration experience or planner certification (e.g., SMRP, SAP PM).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for team collaboration, equity, and driving results.

Salary ranges for U.S. locations (excluding PR): $71,200 - $106,800. This position is eligible for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The offered rate complies with regulations and may vary based on experience, education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains to candidates hired within the U.S.
