Job summary

RI Council 94 is seeking a Maintenance Operations Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks across Department of Administration facilities and grounds. The role requires journeyman tradesmanship, practical skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and related trades, and the ability to supervise others as needed.

The position is full-time, with standard workdays Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, equipment, and processes involved in trades related to general building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to supervise a small group of workers or volunteers; work from pencil sketches and diagrams.
• Must have computer literacy, ability to communicate via email, and to receive/close work orders through a system.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of maintenance and moderately skilled trade tasks in carpentry, painting, masonry, minor electrical, plumbing, heating, road maintenance, landscaping, and vehicle repairs.
• Maintain and operate light equipment and power-driven machinery; inspect buildings and utilities and report repairs.
• Respond to emergencies, snow removal, and other duties as required.
