Job summary

Marquette University Department of Facilities Planning & Management seeks a Senior Mechanic - Mechanical Maintenance to lead a three-member team, diagnose and repair HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical systems, and coordinate daily maintenance tasks across campus facilities.

The role requires advanced knowledge of building automation, strong safety discipline, and the ability to work weekends/holidays in a rotating schedule; familiarity with TMA software and preventive maintenance

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
Five years’ experience in building equipment maintenance.
Advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Knowledge of HVAC controls and DDC/pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
Ability to read and interpret work orders and manuals.
Ability to work weekends/holidays in rotation.

Responsibilities

Lead diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical systems.
Oversee a three-person Maintenance Mechanics team and assist with parts procurement.
Maintain and update task lists and use the TMA system for work orders.
Conduct Building Automation System checks and ensure proper operation.
Ensure safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out, and OSHA compliance.
Provide technical guidance to customers, contractors, and project managers.
