Job summary

Smart Foodservice Stores seeks a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to lead the upkeep of building systems, sanitation, refrigeration, and security across our distribution center. You will supervise maintenance technicians, schedule preventive maintenance, and ensure safety compliance.

This role partners with QA, safety, and operations; manages budgets, coordinates with vendors, and implements energy efficiency improvements while maintaining cold chain integrity and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor associates responsible for building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, and safety maintenance.
• Oversee refrigeration systems for temperature control and cold chain integrity.
• Manage facility operations and capital projects to minimize impact on distribution.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff; manage labor hours and schedules.
• Establish relationships with third-party vendors and ensure compliance.
• Oversee asset selection, purchase, and inventory control of equipment.
• Partner with QA and sanitation teams to ensure food safety regulations compliance.
• Develop and manage facility budgets and identify cost-reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, USDA, and other regulations.
• Collaborate with Safety Department for training and emergency planning.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to support high-volume receiving and shipping.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
