Job description

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the maintenance, repair, and operational activities associated with City-owned buildings, facilities, and related infrastructure. The position oversees the day-to-day operations and preventative maintenance of City facilities, coordinates with other divisions and departments, and works closely with contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure City facilities are safe, functional, well-maintained, and capable of supporting the delivery of public services.

This is a supervisory position whose work requires a high level of professional knowledge and technical proficiency in building and facility maintenance, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, preventative maintenance, facility operations, and related construction and improvement activities. The position requires the ability to apply established guidelines, standards, and alternatives to determine facts, analyze problems, prioritize work, coordinate resources, and make decisions independently. The position is responsible for identifying future facility needs, developing maintenance priorities and schedules, monitoring contracted services, and assisting with facility improvement projects.
