Job summary

Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Manager to lead the operation, maintenance, and preventive care of district facilities in Cambridge, MA. You will supervise trades staff, coordinate contractors, and manage schedules, budgets, and records to keep schools safe and efficient.

The role requires a strong background in facilities management, a license, and experience with CMMS and BMS systems, with a focus on energy efficiency and safety across all district buildings.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction, civil or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Construction Supervisors License required or ability to obtain within first year.
• MCPPO Certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years Facilities Management experience, preferably in education.
• Experience administering Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for 5+ years.
• Strong knowledge of building trades: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry.
• Understanding of Green Building design, LEED processes, and commissioning.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and professional representation of Cambridge Public Schools.

• Ensures compliance with codes, regulations, and district policies.
