Essential Job Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, monitoring, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures.
- Directs and provides guidance to ensure all tasks, projects, and deadlines are met.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow by issuing written and oral instructions to staff.
- Works with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitors and advises on progress to enhance professional development.
- Logs activities of staff when off-site (location, nature of work, start/stop times).
Operations
- Manage facilities maintenance activities across one or more facilities, including overseeing physical maintenance, repairs, and compliance with environmental policies.
- Interface with local government and utility companies to ensure compliance with building ordinances and coordinate upgrades.
- Direct maintenance staff in repair duties, oversee preventive maintenance programs, and manage spare parts inventory.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and coordinate with contractors and other managers.
Safety
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies and regulations.
- Report unsafe conditions, participate in safety training, and promote a safe work environment.
Product Safety and Quality
- Follow product safety and quality standards, GMPs, and SQF requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 in a leadership role. Bachelor’s degree preferred; CFM certification a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical codes.
- Excellent communication, troubleshooting, project management skills, and proficiency in management tools.
Physical Demands
- Standing, sitting, bending, lifting, twisting, climbing, and exposure to vibration and weather conditions.
