Job description

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of cold room systems including chillers, compressors, HVAC, refrigeration units, and electrical systems
• Conduct routine inspections and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance of all M&E equipment
• Manage breakdown repairs and coordinate with external vendors and contractors
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory standards (e.g., NEA, SCDF, BCA) and company safety policies
• Supervise housekeeping, pest control, waste management, and security service providers
• Monitor cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP
• Ensure proper training and adherence to SOPs among cleaning and support teams
• Oversee temperature integrity and functionality of cold storage facilities, including chiller and freezer zones
• Coordinate with warehouse teams on cold room space utilization, temperature logs, and safety measures
• Monitor insulation, cold room doors, and racking system conditions
• Manage facilities budgets, including utilities, maintenance contracts, and consumables
• Maintain updated facility documentation, permits, and inspection logs
• Lead audits, risk assessments, and emergency response exercises

Requirement

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2 years in a cold room or temperature-controlled environment
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems, refrigeration, and building maintenance
• Experience managing both hard and soft services
• Familiar with regulatory and certification requirements such as HACCP, ISO, and WSHA
• Strong leadership, communication, and vendor management skills
• Comfortable working in cold environments (0°C to -20°C)
• Preferred certifications: Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Workplace Safety & Health (WSH), Fire Safety Manager (FSM)
