Job summary

Brookdale is seeking a maintenance supervisor to oversee operations at our Florida communities. You will supervise maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with contractors to keep facilities in top condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid State Driver’s License required for vehicle travel.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff, including hiring, training and evaluating performance.
• Directs workers engaged in the maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the community.
• Oversees scheduled maintenance on HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment.
• Coordinates maintenance requests by residents for items needing repair.
• Oversees repairs and maintenance of buildings including vacated rooms in a timely manner.
• Ensures walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in common areas are maintained.
• Maintains positive communication with local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector.
• Assess all plumbing and electrical problems and determine best course of action within codes.
• Reviews safety data sheets (SDS) for potential exposure to hazards and takes precautions.
• Assess property damage and file property damage claims as per policy.
• Responds to resident or community emergencies by assisting as needed.
