Job summary

Tooele County is seeking a skilled facilities maintainer to perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative work on county buildings and facilities. You will troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems, complete work orders, and assist with projects while coordinating with contractors and providing guidance to junior staff.

The role requires at least three years of hands-on experience in building maintenance or related trades, a valid Utah driver's license, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Must possess a valid Utah driver''s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance, repair, construction, and preventative maintenance on County buildings and facilities.
• Troubleshoots electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, irrigation, and other building systems.
• Completes and documents work orders.
• Performs inspections and identifies maintenance problems before they become larger repairs.
• Performs carpentry, concrete, drywall, painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical, welding, and other construction and repair work.
• Repairs and maintains doors, locks, lighting, HVAC equipment, boilers, pumps, plumbing, electrical systems, and other building equipment.
• Operates and maintains heavy equipment, vehicles, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
• Assists with building improvement and construction projects.
• Helps coordinate and oversee contractors performing work at County facilities.
• Provides direction and assistance to other maintenance employees.
• Assists with estimating repair costs and identifying needed materials and equipment.
• Assists with preparing County facilities for meetings, events, and other activities.
• Responds to emergency maintenance problems and performs necessary repairs.
• Performs snow removal and other weather-related maintenance.
• Maintains accurate records of repairs, inspections, equipment, and work performed.
• Helps ensure County facilities are safe, clean, secure, and operational.
• Follows County safety policies and OSHA requirements.
