Tooele County is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to perform maintenance, repair, construction, and preventative tasks on county buildings and facilities. You will troubleshoot diverse building systems and document work orders, while also assisting with projects and supervising contractors when assigned.

Performs skilled maintenance, repair, construction, and preventative maintenance work for Tooele County buildings and facilities. Troubleshoots more complex problems, completes work orders, assists with projects, and provides guidance to other maintenance employees.
Works under the general supervision of the Facilities Director. Performs assigned work with limited supervision and is expected to use good judgment when troubleshooting and completing work.
May serve as a lead worker and provide direction to maintenance employees, temporary employees, seasonal employees, volunteers, and contractors as assigned.
High school graduation or equivalent.
At least three (3) years of experience in building maintenance, construction, mechanical work, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, heavy equipment operation, or a related field.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess a valid Utah driver's license.
Must be able to work flexible hours, variable shifts, weekends, holidays and participate in the department's 24-hour on-call requirements.
Must have OSHA training for hazardous material handling and confined space entry.
This position requires frequent lifting of up to 100 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier materials or equipment. Work may require bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working on ladders, elevated surfaces, or in confined areas.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors and may involve extreme weather, heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, and other conditions associated with building maintenance.
Must be able to safely use required personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures.
Must maintain a competent or higher overall rating on performance evaluations.
