Job summary

Cedarcrest is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to maintain the facility and equipment as directed by the Facilities Manager. You will handle preventative maintenance, minor repairs, groundskeeping, and vehicle upkeep to keep the building safe and welcoming for children, staff, and families.

The role requires general mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry skills, with a valid driver's license and the ability to plow snow and mow lawns.

Qualifications

• Must have at least four years experience in facilities maintenance or related experience.
• General mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry skills.
• Able to plow snow, mow lawns and operate a variety of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for general preventative maintenance of the facility and equipment.
• Perform daily/ preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment as directed by Facilities Manager.
• Complete monthly fire extinguisher & emergency light inspections.
• Perform repairs and minor building projects to interior/exterior as needed.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance including daily checks, refueling, and shop maintenance.
• Maintain grounds including outdoor maintenance and winter snow removal.
• Support safety initiatives and perform safety inspections.
• Assist with deliveries and errands as assigned.
