Job summary

Cedarcrest is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility safe, welcoming, and running smoothly for children, staff, and families who count on us every day.

As part of our Facilities team, the Maintenance Assistant maintains the physical plant and equipment of Cedarcrest as directed by the Facilities Manager. This role involves preventative maintenance, minor repairs, groundskeeping, and vehicle upkeep with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• At least four years in facilities maintenance or related experience.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry skills.
• Ability to plow snow, mow lawns, and operate various hand tools.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; computer literacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general preventative maintenance of facility and equipment.
• Complete daily inspections of building and grounds for safety.
• Participate in monthly fire extinguisher and emergency light inspections.
• Assist in vehicle maintenance and groundskeeping.
• Back-up to Facilities Manager; cover emergencies evenings/weekends as needed.
• Process deliveries and run errands as assigned.
• Assist with minor repairs, painting, and fabrications as needed.
