Job summary

State of Louisiana's Jetson Center for Youth in Baker, LA seeks an experienced Maintenance Repairer Master to lead facility maintenance operations, oversee staff, and ensure buildings, equipment, utilities, and grounds are safe, functional, and well maintained.

The role requires supervising projects, coordinating repairs, monitoring safety compliance, and partnering with procurement and outside contractors.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience or training in building construction trades, maintenance, or repair of mechanical equipment; OR
• One year of experience with two-year program in related field; OR
• Twelve semester hours in construction-related subjects plus one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff and assign, monitor, and review work orders and projects.
• Oversee building and grounds maintenance for facilities, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
• Perform and coordinate electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, welding, and mechanical repairs.
• Maintain security features and ensure grounds are maintained and functional.
• Operate and oversee heavy equipment, generators, forklifts, tractors, and utility vehicles.
• Coordinate contractor and vendor activities and monitor quality and completion.
• Assist with procurement of maintenance goods and services by developing scopes of work.
• Monitor safety codes compliance and participate in inspections and audits.
• Collaborate on construction and capital projects with planners and outside agencies.
• Provide emergency response support and address critical maintenance needs.

Education

Two-year vocational technical program in building construction, construction technology, or engineering

Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering
