Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor in Indiana to ensure all facility equipment operates efficiently and to identify areas for process improvements. The role entails supervising maintenance staff, managing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional night and weekend overtime and on-the-job training. You will diagnose problems using blueprints and schematics, work with PLCs, and coordinate

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• 2+ years supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience repairing industrial processing equipment in production.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective actions.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Perform and assign preventive maintenance on assets.
• Follow blueprints and manuals per schedule.
• Test boiler chemical and wastewater pretreatment systems and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Manage and assign all equipment maintenance and repairs beyond normal hours.
• Assume responsibility for all shifts in the maintenance department.
• Oversee regulatory and environmental compliance for maintenance.
• Ensure safety within the maintenance department.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures as required.
• Monitor technician training and allocate time for training.
• Utilize CMMS for maintenance tracking.
• Collaborate with Production Manager on budget for building, equipment, and parts/labor.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
