Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Facilities Maintenance Lead for the Kansas City, KS campus. This senior hands‑on role coordinates daily work, provides technical guidance, performs repairs, and ensures facilities, grounds, and systems are safe, functional, and inspection‑ready.

You will oversee maintenance staff, review work for quality, and collaborate with approved contractors while maintaining records and schedules to support continuous operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational or technical training in building trades preferred.
• Three years of progressively responsible building maintenance or related trade experience required; lead‑worker experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance work and monitor completion.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to maintenance staff.
• Perform skilled maintenance and repairs across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Review work for quality, safety, and documentation; escalate as needed.
• Coordinate on-site activities of contractors and service technicians.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and inspections.
• Maintain inventory and safety records; ensure compliance with TSA standards.
