Job summary

The Kitsap Humane Society is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee the shelter’s facilities, grounds, and fleet. This full-time, non-exempt position ensures HVAC, electrical, carpentry and plumbing systems are safe, reliable, and cost-effective, while coordinating with staff, volunteers and contractors.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, strong project management, and a collaborative approach with leadership to support animal welfare operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of two years verifiable, hands-on facilities experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC).
• Excellent knowledge of facilities and facility systems.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of the organization’s facilities, grounds and operations fleet.
• Ensure work orders and projects are completed timely with minimal disruption to shelter operations.
• Collaborate with Executive Director and managers to prioritize facilities projects.
• Provide responsive facilities services and consult staff on solutions.
• Oversee custodial staff and contractors to maintain a safe, functional environment.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, vehicles and equipment.
