Job summary

Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale, WA is seeking a part-time Facilities Maintenance Tech to support routine maintenance and custodial duties, with emphasis on grounds upkeep.

The role involves minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, lawn care, and janitorial tasks. 25 hours per week, competitive hourly pay, holidays, EAP, and leave benefits.

Candidates should have basic maintenance experience and be able to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• 1. Job related experience preferred. On the job training is available
• 2. Valid Washington State Drivers license and the ability to be insured.
• 3. Good communication skills.
• 4. Take and follow instructions.
• 5. Good organizational skills.
• 6. Ability to work as a team or independently.
• 7. Must pass a comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists Facilities Manager in maintenance and minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Patches walls and doors, paints walls and trim, replaces fixtures and partitions.
• Maintains equipment with routine minor repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance and identifies needs before breakdowns.
• Communicates with Facilities Manager on issues and task prioritization.
• Collects and disposes of waste; maintains outside sidewalks.
• Mows, fertilizes lawn, plants and maintains beds; trims trees.
• Performs janitorial duties as needed.
• Cleans restrooms and removes shelter garbage as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
