Job summary

The Kitsap Humane Society is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance of facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. This full-time, hourly role reports to the Executive Director and requires strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with staff, volunteers, and contractors.

The position manages HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other trades, ensuring safety and efficiency. A valid WA driver’s license and ability to pass a background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of two years verifiable hands-on facilities experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of facilities and facility systems; able to work with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the organization’s facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment.
• Manage work orders and projects with minimal disruption to shelter operations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and managers to prioritize and coordinate facilities projects.
• Provide responsive facilities services with input from staff.
• Oversee custodial staff and contracted services as needed.
• Support safety protocols and budget adherence for maintenance activities.
