Job summary

Seattle Humane is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform daily janitorial services and light maintenance at our Bellevue campus. The role supports the Facilities Manager and helps ensure a safe, clean environment for staff, volunteers, and animals.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning, minor repairs, event prep, and collaboration with vendors. Requires basic plumbing/electrical/carpentry knowledge, a WA driver’s license, and 1+ year of related experience.

Qualifications

• One year or more of experience in maintenance/janitorial or related field.
• Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license.
• Ability to pass required pallet stacker operator test within 6 months of hire.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily janitorial services including sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, restocking supplies, and waste/recycling removal.
• Complete preventative and reactive maintenance across the facility and grounds.
• Support on-site vendors and contractors as needed.
• Repair items or equipment daily or in emergencies.
• Assist with facility preparation and cleaning for on-site and off-site events.
• Assist with inventory counts and procedures for the department.
• Perform light repairs (patching, painting, changing bulbs) and keep areas tidy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and follow safety practices.
