Job summary

The City of Laramie is seeking motivated individuals to join our Facilities Maintenance team in Laramie, WY. This role performs custodial duties to keep City facilities clean, safe and orderly, working both in a team and alone under general supervision.

Salary is $12.06–$13.32/hour for 20–30 hours/week. Must lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and pass a background check, drug screen and driver license verification. The City is an EEO/ADA employer and smoke-free.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and skills of custodial work desirable.
• Ability to communicate well verbally in a dynamic environment.
• Able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• First aid and CPR certification or ability to complete training within a designated time line.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, scrub, wax floors; vacuum and clean rugs and carpets; empty and clean waste receptacles.
• Wash and dust windows, walls, and blinds.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs.
• Clean restrooms, toilets, sinks, and hard surfaces; stock consumables.
• Unlock and lock entrances; check buildings for security.
• Inspect buildings for safety, fire, and sanitary hazards.
• Operate cleaning equipment; maintain custodial supplies.
• Move furniture and set up rooms for meetings.
• Answer general questions from the public and City staff.
• May assist in training less experienced staff.
• Perform related duties as required.

The City of Laramie is looking for motivated individuals who can work in a team and alone. Under general supervision, this individual will perform a variety of custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of assigned rooms, buildings, and City facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Sweep, scrub, wax floors; vacuum and clean rugs and carpets; empty and clean waste receptacles.
• Wash and dust windows, walls, and blinds.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs.
• Clean restrooms, toilets, sinks, and hard surfaces. Stock toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, hand sanitizers and other consumables.
• Unlock and lock entrances to buildings; check buildings for security.
• Inspect buildings for safety, fire, and sanitary hazards.
• Operate a variety of electrical cleaning equipment; maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
• Perform various tasks in moving or rearranging furniture, desks and other equipment; set up rooms for meetings.
• Answer general questions from the public and City staff.
• May assist in training less experienced staff.
• Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying)
