Job summary

AK Army National Guard's Facilities Maintenance Office is seeking a Maintenance Generalist - Journey to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex building systems. The position requires versatility and the ability to work with minimal supervision on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, and DDC controls.

You will contribute to reliable operations at JBER and statewide facilities, with a wage-grade 54 classification.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine source and cause.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools to install/maintain/repair pipelines and fixtures (water, steam, sewage).
• Sets goals, initiates, and works with minimal supervision to complete assignments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, boilers and low‑pressure steam.
• Maintains building automation/DDC controls and water/sewage systems for reliable operation.
• Performs self‑directed maintenance tasks with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
• Works effectively within the LTC bargaining unit to support Alaska Army National Guard facilities.
