Job summary

State of Alaska is recruiting a Maintenance Generalist - Sub Journey 1 for the Alaska Army National Guard (AKANG) Facilities Maintenance Office. The role covers statewide preventive maintenance, repair and replacement of building and mechanical components at DMVA and ARNG facilities.

Seasonal grounds work and groundskeeping equipment maintenance are included. Position is within the LTC bargaining unit at wage grade 58, located on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and cooperation with maintenance crews.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for installing, maintaining or repairing pipelines and fixtures.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide statewide preventive maintenance, repair and replacement of building and mechanical components for DMVA and ARNG facilities.
• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance including snow/ice removal and lawn care.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on groundskeeping equipment (oil changes, spark plug replacement, lubrication).
