Job summary

The Waters in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Maintenance Director to plan, organize, and direct the maintenance department’s operations in accordance with regulations and company policies. You will ensure the facility is well-maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

The role requires supervisory experience, knowledge of boilers and building systems, and the ability to respond to emergencies seven days a week when needed.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to work in extreme conditions and a dirty/dusty environment.
• Knowledge of boilers, generators and mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations.
• Licensed as required by applicable standards and laws.
• Ability to respond to emergencies outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the maintenance department operations.
• Inspect storage, work spaces and supply rooms for upkeep and inventory control.
• Participate in facility surveys by governmental authorities.
• Supervise external service providers per contracts/work orders.
• Assist in establishing a preventative maintenance program and daily rounds.
• Maintain fire alarm and other safety systems.
• Perform carpentry and building repairs within scope of expertise.
• Monitor and record inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
• Oversee snow and ice removal; be on call for emergencies.
