Job summary

Language bank Ltd. is seeking a maintenance/custodial professional to keep the facility and equipment in safe, clean, and organized condition.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, housekeeping, window and floor care, and adherence to infection control policies, with some weekend/holiday availability and emergency call-backs. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required, along with a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of [X] years of experience in custodial/housekeeping work.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making in diverse situations.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for transportation to other sites, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and repair tasks on facility and equipment, following established procedures and guidelines.
• Perform room turnovers, including floor care, appliance, cabinet, and window cleaning, and changing light bulbs to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Utilize cleaning methods for carpet, vinyl, and VCT to ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Clean windows and screens, ensure proper functioning of windows, cranks, and screens.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and ensure proper storage at end of shift to maintain safety and organization.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures to safeguard health of residents and staff.
• Respect residents' personal and property rights by coordinating repairs and work orders to minimize disruption to residents' daily activities.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
• Remain available for call-backs during emergencies, such as severe weather events, evacuations, or post-disaster scenarios.
