Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York is seeking an Assistant Property Manager for Vanderbilt YMCA in New York, NY. The role supports the Property Director in managing building operations, safety, and maintenance across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

The position emphasizes 24/7 emergency readiness, staff supervision, and coordination with outside contractors, with a focus on compliance, safety, and reliable facilities service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Degree in facilities management or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC and electrical.

Responsibilities

• Assist Property Director in development and management of financial plan and budget.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Maintain an effective Preventive Maintenance program.
• Respond to emergencies 24/7.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and manage approvals.
• Supervise cleaning and maintenance staff and assist with admin tasks.
• Document building observations and conduct inspections.
• Oversee lock and key system and inventory of supplies.
