Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in New York is seeking a temporary Summer / Vacation Helper to perform non-technical general building maintenance, custodial duties, light repairs, and related tasks across properties.

The role requires 1+ year of related experience and a mechanical inclination. You may be asked to perform varied tasks, assist engineers, and comply with safety policies while maintaining a neat appearance and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Participation in an apprentice program or trade school preferred.
• 1+ year of related experience in a commercial property setting is preferred.
• Mechanically inclined and able to perform light maintenance tasks.
• May require extended shifts; be on-call or standby as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance under supervision.
• Carry out custodial duties, grounds maintenance and minor repairs.
• Assist engineers with loading/unloading materials and errands for projects.
• Replace door hardware, locks, and keys as needed.
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces; match paints and prep surfaces.
• Replace light bulbs/lamps/ballasts and clean fixtures.
• Move furniture and assist with setup of spaces.
• Respond to emergencies and customer service requests.
