Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician Apprentice at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will assist the Maintenance team with basic repairs across Manufacturing and Warehousing, and help keep Garmin aircraft appearances and facilities well-maintained. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma and several years of related experience, familiarity with electrical, HVAC, plumbing basics, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

High School Diploma and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience operating machinery in maintenance settings.
Basic knowledge of machine automation systems.
Fundamental safe manufacturing/warehouse operation knowledge.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull 200 lbs., climb ladders and walk long distances.

Responsibilities

Assist Maintenance Technicians with daily basic maintenance and preventive tasks.
Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical equipment; assist with repairs as needed.
Maintain daily maintenance logs and records for documentation.
Follow supervisor plans and provide regular status updates.
Use power and hand tools in accordance with safety rules.
Assist with handling locks and tags (LOTO) and safety compliance.
Help manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with contractors.
