Job summary

Midland Independent School District, through School Plant Services, seeks a Foreman Carpenter to lead carpentry and roofing projects on district facilities. This full-time role requires coordinating with the Maintenance Operations Supervisor, estimating materials, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

The position entails maintaining records and schedules, communicating with administrators, and guiding crews.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable driving record.
Two years carpentry experience required.
Knowledge of construction trades and safety codes.

Responsibilities

Schedule repairs, modifications, and new construction with the Maintenance Operations Supervisor.
Estimate and secure materials for the carpentry department.
Maintain records and schedule of carpentry work.
Coordinate with administrators to minimize disturbance to activities.
Assist Supervisors in personnel solutions.
Monitor quality and quantity of carpentry work.
Keep supervisor informed on project status and progress.
Assist other departments with related work as needed.
Install and repair carpentry and roofing as directed.
Coordinate and inspect design/installation of contracted services for carpentry/roofing.
Provide evaluation comments for staff performance.
Maintain carpentry/roofing work orders, invoices, and budgets.
Serves on rotating 24-hour emergency on-call when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
