Job summary

This role plans and completes carpentry projects, estimates materials and labor, and coordinates work with district trades and contractors.

Reporting to the Directors of Facilities, the position emphasizes minimizing disruption to school operations, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of skilled carpentry experience in commercial or institutional settings.
• Ability to lead carpentry projects and coordinate trades and schedules.
• Thorough knowledge of carpentry practices, materials, tools, and safety regulations (OSHA).
• Proficiency in rough and finish carpentry, framing, cabinetry, drywall and ceilings.
• Ability to read drawings and estimate quantities and labor, and diagnose repair needs.
• Strong communication with administrators, staff, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry, repair and preventive maintenance across district facilities.
• Construct and repair framing, partitions, drywall, trim, ceilings and fixtures.
• Install and repair doors, hardware, and coordinate access control work.
• Read construction drawings and lay out work; estimate materials and labor.
• Coordinate projects with Facilities leadership and other trades.
• Ensure safety and comply with district procedures.
