Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking a qualified maintenance administrator to lead the Crafts department across the district. You will supervise staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure safe, high-quality repairs of carpentry, flooring, locksmith, painting, roofing, welding, lockers and bleachers.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a valid Texas driver’s license, with a 244-day work calendar and duties spanning planning, training, and external contractor

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/College Degree Preferred.
• Knowledge in construction trades: carpentry, locksmith, flooring, painting, roofing, welding; locker/bleacher repair desired.
• 2+ years in a management or leadership position preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills required.
• Current valid Texas driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Crafts department personnel and perform related work.
• Develop and implement new employee orientation.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, repair of carpentry, flooring, locksmith, painting, roofing, welding, lockers and bleachers; glass replacement included.
• Read and interpret specifications and criteria.
• Maintain preventive maintenance program for crafts systems and equipment.
• Communicate with administrators about schedules and repairs.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper equipment operation.
• Coordinate material, tool, and equipment orders.
• Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance efficiently.
• Assist in budget preparation and plan reviews with architects.
