Job summary

LaBelle Winery is seeking a Facilities Assistant for its Amherst and Derry locations. The role requires hands-on maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general mechanical systems. You will support event setups, vineyard upkeep, and safety compliance, while mentoring junior staff as needed.

The position is full-time, with day shifts from Monday to Friday and weekend availability. Salary ranges from $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, in person at NH locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities/maintenance roles.
• Strong multi-trade knowledge across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience training or mentoring junior maintenance staff is a plus.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vendors and requirements for the facility (e.g., waste removal).
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Perform skilled carpentry, painting, remodeling, and refurbishing of interior and exterior spaces.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical systems.
• Assist with maintenance of LaBelle Lights and lead in construction for events.
• Manage snow removal, irrigation, and landscape maintenance.

Facilities Assistant (Amherst and Derry locations)

• Monitor vendors and requirements relative to the facility such as waste removal
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Perform skilled carpentry, painting, remodeling, and refurbishing of interior and exterior spaces
• Diagnose and perform repairs across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical systems
• Assist with maintenance of LaBelle Lights
• Lead/assist in the construction of our yearly LaBelle Lights event
• Removal and storage of all LaBelle Lights at end of season
• Perform HVAC filter changes and basic HVAC troubleshooting as required
• Monitor and replace light bulbs and fixtures, interior and exterior, as needed
• Maintain and oversee landscape including weeding, feeding, planting, and watering
• Lead and assist with construction projects as assigned, applying independent judgment to determine best approach and materials
• Manage plumbing, electrical, and water needs and repairs of the facility
• Manage and troubleshoot the irrigation system
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs across all facility systems
• Assist with installation and maintenance of the vineyard
• Manage snow removal, ice, and snow management on property
• Event set‑up of chairs, tables, and other furnishings under the direction of Hospitality Managers and/or the Director of Event Operations
• Assist in wine bottling
• Mentor facilities staff and provide hands‑on guidance for less experienced team members
• Other duties may be assigned

• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and problem-solve with minimal supervision

• Prior experience training or mentoring junior maintenance/facilities staff a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk/stand for long periods; for an entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a food/wine environment
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
• Ability to drive a golf cart and utility vehicle
• Ability to use leaf blowers and weed trimmers

• Maintenance/Facilities: 3+ years (Required)
• Multi‑trade experience (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC): Preferred

License/Certification:
