Job summary

LaBelle Winery in Amherst and Derry, NH seeks a skilled Facilities Assistant to perform hands-on maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC. You will monitor vendors, ensure safety compliance, and help with the LaBelle Lights event and vineyard upkeep.

The role requires independent problem-solving, strong communication, and the ability to work in a food/wine environment. Full-time, day shift, with opportunity to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Advanced working knowledge across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general mechanical repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and follow through with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to mentor junior maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vendors and requirements related to the facility, such as waste removal.

Facilities Assistant (Amherst and Derry locations)

• Monitor vendors and requirements relative to the facility such as waste removal
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Perform skilled carpentry, painting, remodeling, and refurbishing of interior and exterior spaces
• Diagnose and perform repairs across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical systems
• Assist with maintenance of LaBelle Lights
• Lead/assist in the construction of our yearly LaBelle Lights event
• Removal and storage of all LaBelle Lights at end of season
• Perform HVAC filter changes and basic HVAC troubleshooting as required
• Monitor and replace light bulbs and fixtures, interior and exterior, as needed
• Maintain and oversee landscape including weeding, feeding, planting, and watering
• Lead and assist with construction projects as assigned, applying independent judgment to determine best approach and materials
• Manage plumbing, electrical, and water needs and repairs of the facility
• Manage and troubleshoot the irrigation system
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs across all facility systems
• Assist with installation and maintenance of the vineyard
• Manage snow removal, ice, and snow management on property
• Event set-up of chairs, tables, and other furnishings under the direction of Hospitality Managers and/or the Director of Event Operations
• Assist in wine bottling
• Mentor facilities staff and provide hands‑on guidance for less experienced team members
• Other duties may be assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk/stand for long periods; for an entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures

• Derry, NH 03038 & Amherst, NH 03031: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Maintenance/Facilities: 3+ years (Required)
• Multi-trade experience (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC): Preferred

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
