Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities in Key West, FL, seeks an Assistant Facilities Manager/Director to support the Facility Manager in daily maintenance operations and team oversight. You will help supervise maintenance staff, manage inspections, and ensure asset performance while focusing on resident satisfaction.

The role requires a minimum of five years in facilities supervision, strong leadership and communication, and familiarity with OSHA and building codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. An associate's degree is preferred.
• Universal H.V.A.C. certification preferred with a strong understanding of electrical and the ability to read blueprints, prepare contracts and forecast budgets.
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in facilities management or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and proficient in Yardi preferred
• Ability to multi-task and manage several projects and excel under tight deadlines
• Working knowledge of local building codes and OSHA standards including Hazmat, EPA and Universal Waste protocols is preferred.
• Possession of a valid, state-issued driver’s license and safe driving record is also required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and developing a motivated, productive team of employees.
• Assist in overseeing regular property inspections to ensure proper maintenance of assets.

About the role

The Assistant Facilities Manager/Director is responsible for assisting the Facility Manager/Director in monitoring and overseeing the daily operations of the repair and maintenance function at an installation.

What you'll be doing

• Responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in providing management oversight for several functions including daily operations, financial reporting, training and development of employees, and customer service to an assigned team comprised of maintenance personnel.


• Assists the Facility Manager in building and developing a team of highly motivated, skilled, and productive employees


• Responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in overseeing regular physical property inspections at the installation to ensure proper maintenance and management of all assets


• Responsible for assisting the facility manager in forecasting maintenance/finance needs and instituting an effective time management program for all personnel to ensure resident satisfaction and project completion goals are met


• Attends and assists with LifeWorks events are required

Typical Physical Demands: Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, controls, phones and computer keyboard. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 75 lbs.
