Job summary

Snohomish County Facilities is seeking a Detention Lead Maintenance Technician to supervise maintenance staff and coordinate complex preventive and corrective work in 24/7 detention facilities. You will assist the Detention Supervisor, plan work orders, and ensure safety, quality, and timeliness of tasks across building systems including HVAC, electrical, and security systems.

The role requires leadership, strong technical skills, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Facilities Supervisor and/or Manager for scheduling, establishing priorities, troubleshooting building system problems, assigning tasks, coordinating work orders and projects.
• Ensures safety compliance and conducts safety training as needed to reduce injuries.
• Trains employees in work methods and procedures; monitors performance and provides input for evaluations.
• Manages inventory and procurement requirements for maintenance projects; estimates materials and labor.
• Leads subordinate staff and contractors in HVAC, carpentry, painting, electrical, and security work; inspects completed work for standards.
