Position Description

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing buildings and equipment, ensuring the facility functions optimally through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and addressing issues with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform repairs and maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, security, fire suppression, pumps, motors, and fans; replace belts, bearings, seals, and mechanical parts.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues to expedite repairs.
  3. Work from sketches, blueprints, and schematics.
  4. Identify and resolve facility issues efficiently, finding effective solutions.
  5. Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  6. Keep meticulous records of inspections and maintenance activities using SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
  7. Assist in preparing budgets, monitor expenses, and suggest cost-saving measures.
  8. Maintain records of repairs, parts used, supplies, and inventory.
  9. Operate tools and equipment, including welding equipment for metal repairs.
  10. Perform scheduled maintenance like filter and belt changes, lubrication, and roof sealing.
  11. Carry out carpentry tasks such as repairing furniture, building cabinets, and minor remodeling.
  12. Promote a safe, team-oriented work environment with effective communication.
  13. Conduct routine equipment checks and report issues.
  14. Train subordinate staff as required.
  15. Paint interior and exterior surfaces and fixtures.
  16. Repair electrical appliances and light fixtures.
  17. Work on assigned on-call weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance experience.
  2. Trade school or equivalent relevant experience.
  3. EPA Section 608 Certification (preferred).
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  5. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand, reach, and work in various environments.
  6. Ability to pass drug and background tests as required.
